Rules and Regulations of the College and Student Discipline
- Students are required to maintain neatness and simplicity in their attire, adhering to the high standards of modesty upheld by the institution. Gaudy or flashy clothing is not permitted.
- Male students must wear pants and shirts (bush shirts or slack shirts). T-shirts are strictly prohibited. Female students are not allowed to wear skirts, leggings, jeans, frocks, or high tops.
- Students must uphold the reputation of the college and themselves. Acts of insubordination or rude behavior, whether inside or outside the campus, will be met with strict disciplinary action.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are mandatory for all classes and college-related activities. Students must seek the principal’s permission to enter or leave classrooms during class hours or to leave the campus during the lunch break.
- Students must stand and greet the teacher when they enter the classroom and take their seats only upon the teacher’s instruction.
- Teachers, regardless of department, should be respectfully greeted by all students.
- Silence must be observed during class hours, in the library, laboratory, examination halls, and throughout the college premises.
- Books, magazines, or other materials not approved by the principal are not allowed on campus.
- Any lost property should be reported to the college office immediately.
- Students must care for college property and ensure cleanliness. Vandalizing walls, doors, or furniture is strictly prohibited and considered a serious breach of discipline.
- Organizing meetings or collecting money for any purpose within the college premises without the principal’s approval is forbidden.
- Visitors are not allowed during working hours, and students are not permitted to receive personal phone calls or letters on campus.
- Permission is required to enter restricted areas such as the office room, staff room, or computer lab.
- Participation in monthly tests and model examinations is compulsory, and malpractice during these assessments will lead to strict action.
- Eve-teasing is strictly banned. Offenders will face dismissal and legal consequences as per the Tamil Nadu Eve-Teasing Ordinance of 1998, which includes imprisonment up to one year, a fine up to ₹10,000, or both.
- Ragging in any form, within or outside the college campus and hostel, is strictly prohibited. Senior students found ragging juniors will face immediate dismissal.
- As per UGC and university guidelines, students involved in ragging may face penalties such as cancellation of admission, fines up to ₹25,000, and imprisonment up to three years.
- Students must comply with all rules in force and any additional regulations prescribed by the college. Discipline is a core value of the institution and is strictly enforced for the benefit of all students.
- Non-compliance with college rules and regulations will result in expulsion.
- Students commuting by two-wheelers must wear helmets, carry a valid driving license, and park their vehicles only in designated areas.
Strict adherence to these rules ensures a disciplined, respectful, and safe environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
